About Me

Programming always seemed like voodoo black magic to me growing up, (and if I'm being completely honest, some languages still do), until I made my own Myspace. While on my journey to create the coolest homepage, I accidentally found myself learning HTML and CSS. After some dabbling in related areas I decided I wanted to pursue this as a career, and began my formal education in computer science at the University of Oregon.

In my personal time I've been recently interested in Z-Wave technology and home automation. Given a little bit of knowledge you can do so much! (Like having the lights in my home turn on and off based on whether anyone is in the room). I also like tinkering around the Raspberry Pi's, and have used personal Pi's as media servers, remote access security cameras (to watch my dog while I'm away), and a webhosting server. These days I'm also passionate about hiking, and my dogs - Sezi & Ari. I've finished nearly all of the hikes listed in The Outbound's Outdoor Guide, including scaling South Sister in August of 2018, and again in September 2021!

A MongoDB & oAuth2 based web-app designed for deployment on a linux server.

Have you ever tried to set up a meeting between colleagues or friends, and you realize that you just can't find a time that quite works for everyone?

Free Times might help! Free Times is a web-app designed to consolidate multiple different Google calendars into a single easy-to-read calendar. Date and time ranges can be specified to narrow down desired meeting times. All event information stored simply contains dates, times, and owners of events.

Please note that I am in the process of moving this web-app to a subdomain on my website, instead of access via port, so service may be intermittently unavailable.

For security purposes and space limitation, all database entries will be deleted every Sunday at 7:00PM PST

Work Experience

Software Engineer II - Cvent (Feb. 2021 - Present)

• Joined a new team as the sole back end developer, working on a different product line; and for over 6 months was the teams sole back end developer. During this time worked in an new technology stack based around GraphQL, Typescript, and DynamoDB.
• Designed and co-developed a new scheduling system for content to show dynamically in the Attendee Hub mobile and web apps based on granular time and date scheduling by a user (planner).
• Was responsible for coordinating communication for multiple cross-team projects for features that touch multiple product areas, and rely on each other as data dependencies.

Software Engineer - CrowdCompass by Cvent (Oct. 2018 - Feb. 2021)

• Quickly and efficiently lead and assisted on numerous release-blocker issues that would have prevented the release of iterations of the CrowdCompass product.
• Was a key member in creation of a new EUR environment in preparation for launching the CrowdCompass application in Europe, as a part of the EU GDPR mandate.
• Lead the creation of multiple clients responsible for interfacing with external databases using environment specific URI's and api-keys via Consul and Vault.
